The baglio (farmhouse) of Marquise Platamone can be found in Trapani and Paceco Salt Pan Nature Reserve.It is located a short distance from the sea, overlooking the Egadi archipelago that, in 241 B.C., was the site of the naval battle between the Romans and the Carthaginians.In more recent years it has been the location of the 32nd America’s Cup sailing contest.

The careful renovation which has been carried out to convert the farm house into accommodation facilities has preserved both the environment and the genuine characteristics of Sicilian tradition.

The Relais Antiche Saline is halfway between Trapani airport and the city centre, only a few kilometers from both.In fact, in only 10 minutes you can get to Nubia and arrive at the Relais.Here you will find yourself immersed in fantastic landscape, surrounded by the salt pans which reflect the colors of the sky and the sun as it sets between the Egadi Islands.

At the Relais you will find yourself in a unique fairytale setting surrounded by nature.

The Relais baglio represents a traditional Sicilian building; it provides a range of different rooms spread over two floors giving it a truly typical atmosphere.All the rooms are simply but pleasantly decorated, each equipped with individual heating/cooling unit, mini-bar, television, telephone and large bathroom with shower and/or bath.

To make the selection of your accommodation easier, the rooms have been separated into categories that include rooms that have similar location, views and presentation.The names of the rooms are taken from the traditional names of the various salt pan workers.

Mulinaru (Standard) – rooms are on the ground floor facing the salt pans and the salt museum.

Staciuneri (Premium) – rooms are on the ground floor with a sea view.

Salinaru (Superior) – rooms are on the first floor with a view of the internal courtyard and Mount Erice.

Curatulu (Grand Superior) – two large rooms both with fantastic sea views.

Patruni (Deluxe) – the most prestigious room. It is on the first floor and has its own large terrace with panoramic sea views overlooking the Egadi Islands.
