For lovers of couscous, and there are many, there is 4 to 16 August in the square "Former fish market" another gastronomic event, which is called "Cous cous day", linked to the famous dish of Trapani. This year the event celebrates its eighteenth edition and is an opportunity not to be missed, because it is not a competition between chefs, where award prizes for the best cous cous, but is a review, which perpetuates the rite of preparation of the famous dish with semolina, which has Arab origin, but that Trapani has practically adopted. Also during the evening there will be entertainment moments of relaxation and fun in a location that has already been shown in previous occasions to be more theater than ideal to enhance the flavor of this dish typical of Sicilian cuisine.
The "Cous cous day" organized by the flavors and smells of Sicily, which will ensure not only the tasting of couscous, but also of other local products such as waterfalls, sphinxes and homemade ice cream thanks to the collaboration of local restaurateurs and tour operators, who are part of the association.
After "Blue Sea (Fish & Food), the discovery of blue fish" and "Ancient flavors Trapani-the rediscovery of old recipes", this gastronomic event is the last of a trio of events, which they put at the center the typical gastronomic tradition of Trapani, through enhancing the food the local beauty.
