Trapani Comix & Games 2026 brings comic art into the historic centre of Trapani with three collateral exhibitions dedicated to Manuele Fior, Monster Allergy and Giacomo Bevilacqua. The seventh edition of the festival, scheduled at Villa Margherita from 22 to 24 May 2026, opens up to the city through a cultural route across museums, cloisters and historic buildings.
The exhibitions are organised for Trapani Comix & Games, the festival dedicated to comics, videogames, cosplay, board games and pop culture, created by Nerd Attack ETS in collaboration with Ente Luglio Musicale Trapanese and the Municipality of Trapani. For visitors, the event is also a good opportunity to explore Trapani’s old town on foot, discovering art, architecture and some of the city’s most interesting cultural venues.
The exhibitions are hosted in three different venues: Museo San Rocco, Chiostro di San Domenico and Palazzo Cavarretta. This turns the festival into a small urban itinerary, designed not only for comic fans but also for travellers who want to experience Trapani through its cultural spaces.
The exhibition programme opens before the main festival and accompanies the three days at Villa Margherita. The official 2026 poster is signed by Mirka Andolfo, one of the best-known Italian comic artists on the international scene, confirming the festival’s growing focus on artistic quality and its connection with the city.
The first exhibition is “Prima che cambi tutto: desideri, luoghi e distanze nei fumetti di Manuele Fior”, hosted at Museo San Rocco and curated by Ludwig G. Maglione. The exhibition includes around eighty original plates from some of the author’s most important works, including Cinquemila chilometri al secondo, Hypericon, Celestia, L’Intervista and I giorni della Merla.
Through ink, watercolours and gouache, the exhibition explores youth as a changing emotional territory, made of desires, distances, relationships, restlessness and awareness. It can be visited on the first floor of the museum until 25 June 2026.
Manuele Fior will attend the festival on 22, 23 and 24 May. A guided visit is scheduled for Saturday 23 May at 11:00 at Museo San Rocco, together with the curator.
The second exhibition is “Il Fenomeno Monster Allergy”, hosted at Chiostro di San Domenico from 8 to 24 May 2026. Curated by Alino, the exhibition presents a selection of original plates, covers, sketches, studies, unpublished materials and foreign editions linked to one of the most popular Italian comic series for young readers.
Monster Allergy was created in 2003 by Katja Centomo, Francesco Artibani, Alessandro Barbucci and Barbara Canepa. The adventures of Zick and Elena Patata later became a Rainbow animated series, also available on RaiPlay, as well as videogames, a musical, spin-off books and merchandising.
The exhibition is organised in collaboration with Tunué and Siena Comics for Kids. Katja Centomo will attend Trapani Comix on 22, 23 and 24 May, with a meeting dedicated to the background and imagination behind the series.
The third exhibition is “A Panda Piace… raccontarsi”, dedicated to Giacomo Bevilacqua and hosted at Palazzo Cavarretta from 8 to 24 May 2026. It features plates and illustrations by the author, known for his character Panda and for his ironic, direct and immediately recognisable way of telling everyday life.
Over the years, Panda has become one of the most recognisable characters in contemporary Italian comics, reaching different generations of readers with a simple, funny and often melancholic language. The exhibition offers visitors the chance to discover Bevilacqua’s narrative world and artistic evolution.
Giacomo Bevilacqua will be a guest at Trapani Comix & Games. A guided visit is scheduled for Friday 22 May at 12:00 with the author and the curator.
Entry is free for all three exhibitions. The exhibitions dedicated to Monster Allergy and A Panda Piace can be visited until 24 May 2026, while the Manuele Fior exhibition will remain open until 25 June 2026.
