Christmas in Trapani 2025 comes alive with the return of Natale Mediterraneo, the event series that transforms the city throughout the Christmas season, from December until January 6th. Squares, theatres, historic districts and churches become the setting for concerts, Christmas markets and cultural events designed for visitors of all ages.
Among the most popular attractions are the Christmas markets set up in front of Villa Margherita, where visitors can browse handmade crafts, local products and unique gift ideas. Inside the municipal park, for the third consecutive year, an ice skating rink welcomes both adults and children, adding a festive and family-friendly touch to the city centre.
Music plays a central role in the programme, with events covering a wide range of genres, from light music to soul and gospel. On Friday, December 19th at 9:00 pm, the Complex of San Domenico hosts the Emmanuel DJob Gospel Quartet for a free concert. On Saturday, December 20th at 7:00 pm, the same venue features a piano concert dedicated to famous Christmas melodies (ticketed event).
Local traditions are also strongly represented. On Sunday, December 21st, the sound of the zampogna, the traditional Italian bagpipe, will fill the Borgo Livio Bassi district of Ummari with Christmas songs and folk melodies.
Christmas in Trapani would not be complete without its nativity scenes. Visitors can admire displays in the village of Ummari and at Villa Pepoli, as well as the evocative medieval nativity scene that brings Borgo Annunziata to life on January 4th, 5th and 6th.
In the days leading up to Christmas, the programme also includes children’s choirs and a lively itinerant concert through the streets of the historic centre on Monday, December 29th. The celebrations culminate on New Year’s Eve with a large open-air concert in front of Palazzo D’Alì, featuring the Dream Land 2000 Show, welcoming the new year with music and entertainment.
