After a two-year break due to the pandemic, the celebrations for the carnival in Paceco resume, now in its fourteenth edition.
Three are the days that the pro loco and the municipality of Paceco in collaboration with some local associations will dedicate to the celebrations with the parade of allegorical floats and all in the name of fun not only for children but also for the older ones who love these occasions to dress up in masks too.
The program is simple, i.e. Friday 18 February the whole afternoon will be dedicated to the childrenīs carnival, while, as we said, the weekend of 18-19 February will be dedicated to the parade of allegorical floats starting from the municipal villa, hence the festive the procession will wind its way through the streets of little Paris in the Trapani area to reach Piazza Vittorio Emanuele, which will then be the heart of the celebrations with the presence of many tourists and visitors.
The local craftsmen are already at work preparing with great care the setting up of the floats, which as always will have current events and customs as their theme. After all, the very essence of the carnival is the fun and ironic provocation of the masks, which target the characters of the moment to ridicule them.
Also involved in the parade are various local associations that will enliven the streets with dances and songs and all its participants will be strictly in costume.
The Paceco carnival started out almost quietly compared to the events of the neighboring municipalities, but over the years it has managed to gain a certain credibility thanks to the punctual organization and it is for this reason that every year Paceco is included on a par with Valderice in the tourist itineraries of the area .
