During the Christmas season in Trapani there are several appointments with music and the Mediterranean Christmas review includes some appointments in the churches of the historic center of our city.
Of note on Tuesday 20 December in the church of the Annunziata in Trapani at 9.00 pm the concert of the band "Città di Erice", while in the church of the Collegio on Friday 23 December at 6.30 pm it will be possible to listen to the notes of the music performed by the orchestra of the Conservatory Receipt, composed by the students who will entertain those present with the most famous Christmas melodies.
On the evening of Wednesday 28 December at the Church of the Sacred Heart of Jesus Maestro Claudio Maltese will direct the concert held by the famous Città di Paceco band; instead, to listen to the Christmas carols in the Sicilian tradition you have to wait for Monday 2 January at the church of the Salesians with the Tammorra.
On the eve of the Epiphany at the church of the Collegio at 9 pm we point out a beautiful concert by the “Capitolium” Lyric-Symphonic Choir, but the appointment that we define as the “highlight” is Thursday 22 December with Sherrita Durran in the protobasilica of S. Nicola, who will bring on stage his Gospel Show.
Contrary to what one might think, gospel is not a profane musical genre, indeed far from it, because the term gospel even if it refers to two different musical styles, however, both fall within the genre of religious music and the two styles are born both from Christian choral hymns from African-American churches.
Expression of this genre is the international singer Sherrita Duran, from California, already very young she performed on the most prestigious stages in the United States and from here she toured the world, making herself known and appreciated for her profound talent which is measured against a vast repertoire , which ranges from opera to pop, from gospel to jazz, from soul to dance music, but his specialty is the lyrical genre.
After having won prestigious awards both in America and in Italy, and right here in Italy, she undertakes precious collaborations with important artists such as Adriano Celentano and Gianni Morandi.
