From March 23 to April 22, 2026, the Teatro Ariston di Trapani will host the third edition of “Quintessenza Jazz”, a music festival dedicated to jazz lovers and live music enthusiasts. Under the artistic direction of violinist Mauro Carpi, the event features five concerts that will bring internationally acclaimed artists to Trapani, offering audiences a musical journey through swing, Latin rhythms and contemporary jazz influences.
The festival opens on March 23 with Jumpin’Up, a seven-piece band with more than eighteen years of experience performing a repertoire inspired by the jazz and swing sounds of the 1950s and 1960s, creating an elegant and refined atmosphere.
On April 1, Mauro Carpi will take the stage with his own ensemble. The concert promises a vibrant performance blending swing and Latin influences, interpreted by a sextet of outstanding musicians with Carpi’s virtuoso violin at the center.
On April 8, the spotlight will be on the vocal group Baraonna, widely known for their participation in the Festival di Sanremo in 1994 with the song “I Giardini di Alhambra.” Since then, the group has performed across Italy and internationally, bringing their sophisticated vocal style to audiences worldwide.
On April 15, American drummer Paul Wertico will perform together with pianist Fabrizio Mocata in the project Mocata. The concert blends jazz with the Italian operatic tradition, reinterpreting famous arias by Verdi and Puccini through modern arrangements and rhythmic experimentation.
The festival will conclude on April 22 with the Nico Gori Trio, presenting a repertoire that combines American jazz classics with influences from Brazilian music.
Tickets for all concerts are available at the theater box office and online through the ticketing platform LiveTicket.
The festival offers a perfect opportunity for visitors to enjoy an evening of live music while exploring the cultural atmosphere of Trapani’s historic center.
