Although this year the month of May has very little spring due to the continuous disturbances that make the weather a bit uncertain, from 19 to 21 May there will be the traditional "Art&Fiori" floral display on the S. Domenico staircase, organized as again by the cultural association Tradumari&Venti with the collaboration of the parish of the Cathedral of “S. Lorenzo".
The floral event has reached its thirteenth edition and as always includes floral creations by Trapani artists whose theme is "Mary, guardian of divine salt", one of the titles used by the Catholic Church for the veneration of Mary, mother of Jesus Christ.
The Art&Fiori event officially opens the tourist season in Trapani and includes other collateral events in the small square of S. Domenico, which is located in front of the church, currently undergoing renovation.
Every year there are many visitors who go up and down the steps of the staircase to admire real works of art that only master florists can create, using the most beautiful flowers and making the staircase leading to the church truly colorful and cheerful.
To make these artefacts, the organization takes several days of work, but the effort is not felt thanks to the satisfaction of creating something that pays homage to the figure of the Madonna.
The event is sponsored by the municipality of Trapani and can be visited on Friday 19 May from 17 to 19.00, Saturday 20 May from 17 to 1.00 of the following day and Sunday 21 May, Solemnity of the Ascension from 17.00 to 21.00.
