The exquisite gastronomic festival of street food "Stragusto" is about to come back as always full of flavors and smells, which this year celebrates its tenth edition with an ever richer culinary program, which attracts many visitors and also many lovers of traditions. .
The event, which is organized by the Trapani Welcome association in collaboration with PS Advert and with the patronage of the municipality of Trapani, provides from 25 to 29 July a rich tasting menu in the former fish market square, which once again transforms into an open-air kitchen to review not only Sicilian but also international gastronomic specialties; in fact this year the traditional Sicilian flavors are accompanied by Romanian and Tunisian foods.
Street food is born as poor food, which does not cost much and is tasted cooked and eaten just in the street, but today thanks to a wise marketing policy and image revaluation, today is an excellence that deserves to be exported and known by everyone.
For what concerns the Sicilian specialties in tasting are present:
- the scaccia di Ragusa, which is a focaccia that can be stuffed with vegetables, potatoes, cheese, sausage, black olives and ricotta; - the crispelle: a kind of fried bread, which are served as a snack to plug the classic hole in the stomach when hungry. They can also be accompanied with cold cuts.
Other flavors are those of the cuisine of Trapani, Friuli, Tuscany, Umbrian, Madonie and will not miss this year also the pampered purpo of Trattoria Poseidone and finally the granite and the classic yellow melon of Paceco.
The stands will be open every evening from 18.30 to 24.00 with the possibility to buy tickets for the specialties in tasting. Finally, the program includes various entertainment and educational events such as free evening cooking shows and various live musical performances.
