From 28 June to 5 July 2026, Favignana will once again become one of the cultural centres of the Egadi Islands with Festival Florio 2026, a programme of music, theatre, literature, meetings with artists, masterclasses and tastings. The festival, founded in 2012 and artistically directed by Maestro Giuseppe Scorzelli, will take place mainly at the Former Florio Factory, one of the island´s most iconic places, with additional events in Marettimo and Levanzo.
Festival Florio is more than a simple events programme. It is a cultural project that brings together Mediterranean identity, historical memory and contemporary languages. Visitors staying in Favignana during these days will be able to enjoy evening concerts, sunset meetings, theatre performances and experiences linked to local food and wine. To plan your stay on the island, you can also visit the page dedicated to B&B in Favignana.
The Festival Florio 2026 in Favignana will open on Sunday 28 June at 9.30 pm at the Former Florio Factory with the Premio Favignana for Theatre awarded to Leo Gullotta, a recognition dedicated to personalities who have distinguished themselves for artistic value and civic commitment.
On Monday 29 June, the festival will continue with Carlotta Proietti and the show "Gigi Proietti, Insegnamenti e Chiacchiere" at the Former Florio Factory, while Marettimo will host a concert by the duo Carola Cilluffo and Claudio Terzo. Tuesday 30 June will focus on Enrico Pieranunzi, with an afternoon meeting dedicated to Bill Evans at Lido Radangia and the evening concert "Pieranunzi plays Morricone".
The programme combines music, words and territory. On Wednesday 1 July, visitors can attend a Cantine Florio wine tasting at Camparia and a concert by Raphaela Gromes and Julian Riem at the Former Florio Factory. On Thursday 2 July, the programme includes a meeting dedicated to the letters between Eduardo and Luca De Filippo, curated by Maria Procino, and the event "Ennio Morricone. Il genio, l´uomo, il padre", with Marco Morricone.
On Friday 3 July, the festival will involve both Favignana and Levanzo: the Former Florio Factory will host a concert by Pietro Adragna, in collaboration with the "Antonio Scontrino" Conservatory of Trapani, while Levanzo will welcome the violin duo Manuel and Gianni Burriesci. On Saturday 4 July, the programme includes a meeting on Saint Francis and the Papacy in thirteenth-century Italy and the theatrical reading "Cacciatori di Comete", dedicated to the Rosetta space mission.
The closing event of Festival Florio 2026 will take place on Sunday 5 July at 9.30 pm with Giovanni Allevi and "Armonie Invisibili", a performance combining piano, words and landscape in an experience designed to dialogue with the natural beauty of Favignana.
In addition to the main events, the festival will also offer music masterclasses, cooking workshops and tastings. From 1 to 3 July, the Italian Sommelier Association will present wine experiences dedicated to local labels and grape varieties, including Grillo, Catarratto and Marsala. The Associazione Cucina Siciliana will also curate workshops on traditional dishes from the Trapani area, such as pizzi fritti, busiate cù l´agghia and sarde a linguata.
The days of Festival Florio are also a perfect opportunity to discover Favignana by day and enjoy cultural events in the evening. Before a concert or a theatre performance, visitors can explore the historic centre, visit the Former Florio Factory, tour the island or choose one of its most popular coves.
