It will be called "Diecimarzoduemilaquindici, Mediterranean routes: Peace, Environment, Archaeology and Good Practices (Hiera today and tomorrow)", the event organized in the Egadi the anniversary of the Battle of the Egadi, which took place back in March 10, 241 BC on the waters of the Mediterranean.
This historic event, the largest that has ever happened in the history of the civilizations of the Mediterranean, has ended the First Punic War and marked the consecration of Rome as a dominatrix maritime power at the expense of the Carthaginian.
It was a very bloody episode for the serious loss of life, so that the blood was so copious that the waters of the sea were stained with red. Hence the name of the famous resort island of Favignana "Cala Rossa".
The event is organized by the CSRT "Marettimo" and the Superintendent of the Sea, which in the person of Professor. Sebastiano Tusa and the RPM Nautical Foundation, it was possible to bring to light so far eleven bolts and other precious artifacts.
The various moments of the event will take place: in Favignana, Palazzo Florio, March 9 at 16:00 in Favignana, "Meeting with the schools", March 10th at 10:30 am.
Based on this anniversary, these days are an opportunity to retrace an ideal route between the themes, which now more than ever are topical, ie the meeting of different cultures in the Mediterranean are like the natural place of work and peace, especially when more and more immigrants are the death in an attempt to reach the shores of Europe to escape from war and misery.
