The event, organised by the Vivere Erice Association with the patronage of the Municipality, includes nine events hosted in historic courtyards, squares and some of the most evocative locations in Erice.
The programme begins on Saturday 18 and Sunday 19 July with Cortili Fioriti 2026, the competition returning after more than ten years and inviting visitors to discover the village’s historic courtyards decorated with plants and flowers.
The initiative offers an opportunity to walk through alleys, palaces and old residences, rediscovering the traditions and lesser-known spaces of the historic centre.
On Saturday 1 August at 6:30 pm, in Cortile D’Alì, writer and journalist Giacomo Pilati will present the book Blu e sale. Un’educazione siciliana. Angela Grammatico will talk with the author, with readings by Mariza D’Anna.
On Friday 7 August at 6:30 pm, in the arena of the Tennis Club, professor and writer Renato Lo Schiavo will be remembered through music, readings and the presentation of his posthumous book Il cazzabubbolo ciuschero.
One of the most eagerly awaited events is scheduled for Wednesday 12 August at 7:00 pm in front of the Castle of Venus. Writer Stefania Auci will present L’alba dei leoni, a novel dedicated to the origins of the Florio family. Noemi Genovese will talk with the author, with readings by Mariza D’Anna.
On Sunday 9 August, Erice will host Borgo in Musica, a day featuring three concerts:
11:00 am – piano concert by Delia De Fina at the Gebel Hamed Theatre;
6:00 pm – pop-rock concert by Foreway at the Balio Gardens;
9:30 pm – jazz concert by the Blu Notes Quartet at the Gebel Hamed Theatre.
The different events will offer visitors the opportunity to enjoy classical, pop-rock and jazz music in some of the village’s most characteristic settings.
On Friday 21 August at 6:30 pm, at Palazzo Sales, writer and doctor Salvatore Requirez will receive an award for his novel La macchia.
On Thursday 27 August at 6:30 pm, in Cortile Grande, the festival will pay tribute to Andrea Camilleri. Gaetano Savatteri and Salvatore Picone will present the books Il contastorie di Vigàta and In Sicilia con Andrea Camilleri.
The festival will conclude on Friday 28 August at 7:00 pm, in front of the Castle of Venus, with the awards ceremony for the eighth edition of the Città di Erice Literary Prize and the third edition of the Young Writers Literary Prize.
Erice’s historic centre can be reached by car or by using the cable car connecting the Trapani Casa Santa area with the medieval village.
Before leaving, visitors are advised to check the Trapani-Erice cable car timetable, which may vary depending on the season and weather conditions.
Taking part in Cortili Narranti can be an excellent opportunity to spend an entire day in the village, visiting the Castle of Venus, the Balio Gardens, the Cathedral and the ancient streets of the historic centre.
