From December 6th 2025 to January 6th 2026, Erice celebrates Christmas with EricèNatale, transforming the medieval village into one of the most enchanting places to visit during the festive season. The streets light up with decorations, the scent of traditional sweets fills the air, and the Christmas markets in Piazza Umberto I offer local crafts, gift ideas and Sicilian treats such as spince, cassatelle and mulled wine, making it an ideal destination for anyone interested in tourism in Trapani.
Erice is also known as the Village of Nativity Scenes, with more than thirty crèches displayed throughout courtyards, churches and artisan workshops. Palazzo Sales hosts the large mechanical nativity scene, while the A. Cordici Museum exhibits the unique “Sports Nativity Scene”, inspired by Erice’s designation as European City of Sport 2027. The Town Hall features a collection never before shown in Sicily: over one hundred German nutcrackers and music boxes, from traditional carved figures to modern pop pieces and animated winter villages.
The programme also includes shows, traditional zampognari bagpipers, concerts, family activities and Santa’s House in Piazzetta San Giuliano. On New Year’s Eve, Piazza della Loggia becomes an open-air dancefloor with international music and fireworks. The nearby villages join the celebration with illuminated balconies, tastings and school-made nativity displays.
