Erice is getting ready to relive the charm of the Middle Ages with the tenth edition of the Federicina Festival, scheduled from September 19th to 21st, taking place alongside the 9th Gathering of the Historical Parades of Sicily. The medieval town, perched above the Gulf of Trapani, will become the stage for fascinating reenactments, including parades, falconry shows, military duels and scenes of medieval life recreated in an authentic camp set up for the occasion.
On Friday, September 19th, visitors will have the chance, with prior phone reservation and a modest contribution of 30 euros, to take part in a medieval dinner with traditional dishes, live music and faithful settings an experience that combines history, flavor and conviviality.
During all the festival days, the medieval village set up in the cloister of San Francesco will be open to visitors, animated by artisans, merchants and costumed performers who will recreate the atmosphere of daily medieval life.
On Sunday, September 21st, the event will reach its climax with the grand historical parade, featuring over 200 costumed participants arriving from all over Sicily.
Also on Sunday, September 21st, in the late afternoon in front of the Real Duomo, spectacular daytime fireworks will pay tribute to Sicily and close the event in style, organized by the medieval group Monte San GiulianoErice in collaboration with the association Tradumari&venti and sponsored by the Municipality of Erice.
