This year too, Marettimo, the most distant of the Egadi islands, will be the protagonist of the cinematographic jet set through the fifth edition of the Marettimo Film Festival, an appointment with the protagonists of the seventh art.
Marettimo Film Festival will be held from 16 to 20 July and is an event organized by the Solemar events association with the patronage of the municipality of Favignana. As we were saying, the great protagonists of cinema will have their place of honor. Artists of the caliber of Giancarlo Giannini who will receive the prestigious Stella Maris award in honor of his extraordinary acting career.
The Marettimo Festival is also an opportunity to promote the excellent food and wine, art and craftsmanship of the area which, displayed inside a village, can be visited by onlookers. In addition to this there will also be space for children with interesting educational workshops.
The festival will officially kick off on the afternoon of July 16th, with the screening of documentaries and images dedicated to the Egadi Islands; in particular, the documentary "LŽErba di Poseidone" will be presented and screened to celebrate the tenth anniversary of the partnership between Rio Mare and the Marine Protected Area of the Egadi Islands. At 10.00 pm there will be space for music with I Cugini di Campagna in concert, on the specially set up stage at the Scalo Nuovo.
There are various collateral moments at the festival such as cooking shows and moments dedicated to talks and in-depth journalistic analysis linked to the world of entertainment. DonŽt miss the talk with Pierluigi Diaco dedicated to cinema and the values of our society.
On Wednesday 17th the film by Alessandro Siani "It also happens to the best families" will be screened, while on Thursday 18th July the film "Il Postino" will be screened to remember the great Massimo Troisi thirty years after his death.
And then more music with Rita Forte, Friday 19th July, and the grand finale on Saturday 20th with the amazing Audio 2 concert to close the event.
