Summer in Marettimo kicks off with the fourth edition of the Marettimo Film Festival, the festival dedicated to cinema and the sea which will take place on the island of Marettimo from 19 to 22 July. Like all film festivals, it is also a competition that aims to promote both Italian and foreign short films and documentaries.
The event is organized by the Solemar events association and simultaneously announces a competition entitled "Egadi dŽAmare", reserved for all those cinematographic works that tell the aspects of daily life lived in the archipelago with particular attention to its wonderful sea and to all those natural beauties that are part of the Marine Reserve of the Egadi Islands.
The competition, therefore, is a wonderful appendix, which adds to the festival and will attract very famous actors and personalities during the days of the event, starting with the conductors of the kermesse who will be Roberta Morise and Federico Quaranta.
For the Festival, various locations have been identified that will act as a theater for the screening of the films in competition and are the port of Marettimo, where a stage area has been set up, the parish oratory and a green village specially set up on the Marettimo seafront.
There will be musical guests and for this edition the organizers have called the duo Colapesce Di Martino, who made themselves appreciated at the Sanremo Festival and for the occasion will present their new song for the summer, which is called "Splash" , a splendid dive into the depths of everyday life.
The heart of the event is the "Stella Maris" Award, dedicated to the memory of Sebastiano Tusa and assigned to that work that better than all the others will be able to tell the sea in all its facets.
And it is important today to know how to tell the natural beauties, which today man is disfiguring due to his selfishness and therefore exalting them in a cinematographic work, it is like doing a little justice to the evil that has been done. After all, it is the spirit of the competition and the artistic cut, which has given the supervision of the manager or Federica Lucisano, who takes care of the artistic direction.
The works in competition will be judged by a Cultural Scientific Committee.
