From July 4 to 6, the village of Castelluzzo, a charming hamlet in the municipality of San Vito Lo Capo, will host the second edition of Terr’e Mare, a festival that brings together food, cultural heritage, and tradition in a truly captivating setting.
The event aims to promote Castelluzzo by showcasing its rich legacy of olive cultivation and oil production—symbols of an age-old tradition deeply rooted in the San Vito Lo Capo area. The three-day event will feature a full program of tastings, music, and cultural talks, transforming the village into a true “taste village” for both locals and visitors.
The lineup includes entertainment shows, live music, and cooking demonstrations, but the heart of the festival lies in its themed talks focused on the local culinary excellence. Among the stars of the menu are the classic cous cous and the traditional cascatelle, served both as dessert and as a savory first course in meat or fish broth—dishes that reflect the rural and maritime soul of San Vito Lo Capo.
A highlight of the cultural program will be the presentation of the cookbook “Le ricette del convento” ("Recipes from the Convent"), written by three Benedictine monks from the Abbey of San Martino delle Scale, located in the Palermo mountains. These monks have become well-known on social media for their ability to blend spirituality, culture, and a touch of humor, sharing recipes and stories from behind the convent walls.
Another important focus of the event will be the medicinal herbs that grow abundantly in the Castelluzzo area and the wider San Vito Lo Capo region. Thanks to a longstanding tradition of herbal knowledge, locals have learned to cultivate and process these plants into natural products and high-quality essential oils.
Terr’e Mare confirms itself as a must-see summer event—a journey through flavors, memories, and authenticity, just a few steps from the natural and gastronomic wonders of San Vito Lo Capo.
