The designs, drawings, sketches and minute of Leonardo Da Vinci become reality in the exhibition "The Genius of Leonardo" who, after having traveled the world, arrived in Trapani. Forty machines, rebuilt with the original materials, documented through the exhibition of models that interpret the original plans and the genius of Leonardo da Vinci, inventor and engineer. It is not just an exhibition of models, but the exposure of a series of machines, life-size, ranging in different fields: those flying to those for the war, from mechanical to civil engineering. All this is located inside the Church of Sant´Agostino square Saturn in Trapani. The machines, faithfully reproduced from the designs contained in the Codes of Leonardo, were reconstructed by skilled artisans under the supervision of experienced engineers and represent much of the vast repertoire of Leonardo´s inventions: the bicycle, the famous flying machines came out from the study of bird flight , ball bearings, a portable piano, a rudimentary parachute. Inventions that have played a key role in the progress of humanity and that have in common the fact of being born from an intuition of Leonardo. The machines exhibited in the church of St. Augustine in Trapani are out of the studio for the production of Leonardo of which there are still more than five thousand pages of notes, written with his unmistakable mirror writing, from right to left. A huge mass of documents, deemed by the researchers the most consistent of the Renaissance period, suffered after Leonardo´s death, many vicissitudes. To rebuild equipment which is part of the exhibition Palermo artisans and engineers have been studying for years the ten codes arrived to us: the code Arundel, Atlantic Code, the code Trivulziano, the code on the flight of birds, the code Ashburnham, the codes Institute of France, codes Forster, the Codex Leicester, sheets Windsor and codes of Madrid.
The exhibition will be open to the public from 5 June to 30 September, daily from 9:30 am to 13 and from 16.30 to 23. Entrance ticket € 8.
