In years past the City of San Vito lo Capo had organized and sponsored Carnivals for residents and tourists.
These events included a parade through the streets in Mask of the city and ended, usually with a great feast to eat and celebrate together.
In the spending review period, the festivities in San Vito lo Capo , as well as throughout the province Trapani, entering a phase of uncertainty due to the lack of funds of municipal and provincial administrations.
At present, there is the certainty of the carnival celebrations in Petrosino: a location very close to San Vito lo Capo, between Marsala and Mazara del Vallo. ( be viewable on the map of the province of Trapani at this link ).
The event, which will take place February 9 to 12, includes parades of floats with songs and dances as well as the tasting of typical products of the territory of Trapani and San Vito lo Capo.
Interesting the idea of "diffuse hotel" which involves the use of the houses of the citizens of Petrosino, less than an hourīs drive from San Vito lo Capo, to accommodate tourists and visitors.
The Mayor Giacalone stated "The carnival is the most important appointment with the fun and joy for Petrosino and the entire Province of Trapani."
