Imagine Israel and Palestine, after decades of war, to challenge shots Cous Cous. No, not a joke, but what is happening these days in San Vito lo Capo during the 15th edition of Cous Cous Fest .
Israel puts forward his ace in the hole, grouper with smoked couscous with lemon and sage and cream of eggplant. The dish is prepared by the chef duo composed by Refael Levi and Boaz Cohen.
Palestine, by contrast, does not stay to watch and pulls out a composition of couscous with chickpeas and chicken with its two chefs: Romeo and Musallam Nizam Sana Saleh Saleh.
So the couscous becomes a way, one of many, to forget the fights and feuds and compete on land more peaceful.
It 's the magic of Cous Cous Fest in San Vito lo Capo that is able to unite peoples and cultures in this gastronomic festival famous now all over the world and attracts every year, tens of thousands of spectators who come to live in the charming town in Sicily, in these last remnants of summer, all the magic of the Mediterranean.
This year the chefs come from nine different countries: Cote d'Ivoire, Egypt, France, Israel, Italy, Morocco, Palestine, Senegal and Tunisia.
