Among the initiatives that will take place in the Archipelago of the Egadi to remember Garibaldi and the Thousand on the 150th anniversary of the landing and the Unification of Italy, the town of Favignana - Egadi Islands, in collaboration with the associations and committees of Favignana, levanzo Marettimo, is planning a contest of Painting and Poetry on the theme Garibaldi and the transition from the Egadi. The work in painting will be on display from 8 to ´15 May and the best poems will be published in a commemorative booklet. The Egadi Islands (Favignana, Levanzo and Marettimo) claim a role, although minor, in the historical context of the landing at Marsala of Giuseppe Garibaldi and the Thousand.
