The best beaches identified by Legambiente and the Italian Touring Club in the "Blue Guide 2011". Fourteen locations have been awarded five sails and these three are in Sicily, the island of Salina, San Vito lo Capo and Noto. For each region the volume contains an introduction to historical, cultural landscape and complements the descriptions of places with reports of events, tours and food and wine. The island of Salina in the Aeolian archipelago with the three municipalities of Santa Marina Salina, Malfa and Leni took second place national (instead went to the first thumb in the province of Salerno), thanks to the many initiatives for protecting the environment, by collection to the cleaning of beaches. In San Vito Lo Capo Santa Margherita Bay project exists in a vast area between the reserves of Mount Hood and the areas of preriserva Zingaro.
