With this in mind Ludovico Corrao Baldo Carollo and wrote "The Mediterranean Dream" a book - published by Ernestodilorenzo interview, which will be presented Wednesday, November 17th in the conference room of the monumental St. Peter's, from 17.30.
Elected to five terms of office to the national parliament in the ranks of the Communist Party and the PDS, Ludovico Corrao is certainly one of the main protagonists of the cultural life in Sicily in the second half of the twentieth century. He found a lawyer to investigate the case Franca Viola, who occupied for weeks on the front pages of national newspapers. But over the years his name was tied to the increasingly common Gibellina, of which he was mayor for years, promoting the reconstruction after the earthquake of 1968 that devastated the entire valley of Belice. A stage marked by the call to collect some of the most prestigious names in contemporary art - to be a Burri Consagra - that their work helped redefine the identity of Gibellina, mostly agricultural town that became a sort of air museum open as well as a cultural capital of the South, thanks to the important work that the Foundation continues to play Orestiadi. "The dream Mediterranean, however, is also the story of a perspective that sees Sicily in the middle of a dialogue between different cultures that inhabit the Mare Nostrum. A horizon characterized by the meeting and from membership of a Mediterranean koine, too often forgotten in the name of opposing fundamentalism.
Reflections and budgets that are intertwined with a life marked by friendship with some of the most important intellectuals of the twentieth century, such as Leonardo Sciascia, Carlo Levi, Peter Consagra and Danilo Dolci.
During the presentation of "The Mediterranean Dream," Ludovico Corrao will interview the journalist Baldo Carollo.
