A particular beauty contest is about to return to Trapani, where there will be no beautiful tall girls but also a little skinny parading on the catwalk wearing magnificent high fashion clothes, but equally beautiful horses of Arab ethnicity will be seen parading majestically to receive the coveted recognition of "Trapani Arabian Horse Cup".
This is a trophy that has reached its fourth edition and will see the judges called to express their opinion on particular specimens drawn by lot directly from the National Association for the Arabian Horse, which promotes the event, organized by the new Monte Erice Equestrian Group.
This year the location of the event will be in the first weekend of October at the "Pietra dei Fiori" equestrian center located in Bruca, a hamlet of Buseto Palizzolo, a few gallops from the horse, it is appropriate to say, from the Park Archaeological of Segesta.
For those who are passionate about horse riding, the Bruca equestrian center is a flagship for the riding competitions that take place in western Sicily because it is a very equipped structure with four fields, grandstands, parking lots, a magnificent restaurant, a bar and 350 boxes to accommodate animals in absolute comfort.
The competition is not a speed race but aims to elect only the most beautiful horse, because those of Arab ethnicity are among the most ancient and well-known horse breeds in the world, with a fine and noble bust, thin and elastic skin covered with short hair and shiny; furthermore the hooves are small and very hard.
The competing horses will be divided into many categories and will compete accompanied by their rider, who is called a handler, a person who must be very expert, because the Arabian horse is very fast and quite neurile, so for these particular characteristics, non common.
